This went okay; felt better to complete it. With the recent snow storm yesterday, I figured any trail would be a mess. The streets and sidewalks downtown were plenty technical and I decided to head to the Highlands for hills. I didn’t have the opportunity to use ice on my back and was still sore Saturday evening. Fortunately, Sunday morning I had little to no discomfort. I took some Motrin to help with inflammation about an hour prior to starting. My back was no factor for the entire run.
I didn’t particularly feel strong, but felt good to push a continued pace on the icing inclines. I was motivated and listening to good music when the long sleeve shirt came off after the first hour. I wore a beanie and never needed gloves. The sun felt amazing on the downhills, while I reconsidered a shirt when the snowy shade lasted longer than a block.
I had light but noticeable tightness in my legs and particularly hip flexors after about the first hour. It was dull and minor for the entire run. Calves felt amazing to stretch afterwards. I recovered an hour in compression pants.
